Abbotsford Ferry [2nd]: 'Wash the area with soap and warm water as soon as possible to relieve the sting, remove any nettle hairs, refrain from scratching...' Part of a Google search attachment to an archived computer file containing this photograph, taken after venturing onto the overgrown trackbed of the former Abbotsford Ferry station (closed 1931). View is north east along the branch back towards Selkirk Junction in May 2008.
Linlithgow: West of Linlithgow station the original cast iron footbridge at Well Wynd is C listed, along with the retaining walls on either side of the line. This image was taken prior to electrification but during that process the walls were built up sympathetically with new stonework rather than being replaced. See image [[57989]].
Kenyon Junction: 319369, working from Lime Street to Manchester Airport, has just passed through the tunnel like bridge at Kenyon Lane and is approaching the site of Kenyon Junction on 8th February 2021.
Montfode Fuel Depot Sidings: What appears to be major drainage work being carried out on the Largs line in February 2021. The location is the south side of the bridge which takes the minor road to Boydston Farm across the line just north of Montfode Siding.
East Linton: Network Rail's plans for a new East Linton station.

Montfode Fuel Depot Sidings: The trackbed of the siding at the wartime fuel depot at Montfode, north of Ardrossan, looking north towards the Largs line in February 2021. There is a pair of disused Network Rail access gates, which are just a few hundred yards south of one of the landslips. For some reason this access point has not been used in connection with the recent landslip repairs.
Montfode Fuel Depot Sidings: Long distance shot of one of the landslip work sites just north of Montfode Siding on the Largs line, showing Networks Rail's temporary access road laid across a field adjacent to the A78. The access to the trackbed here is very steep and, not visible in the shot, there is a rope handrail down the left hand side which workers used when descending from track level to field. 14th February 2021
Carlisle Upperby Shed: Extremely dirty 12A Carlisle Kingmoor based BR 9F 2-10-0 92009 is seen standing on 12B Carlisle Upperby Shed in June 1967.
Motherwell Shed: Standard 9F 2-10-0 92019 was the only engine in steam at Motherwell depot on 10th May 1967, and made its presence felt by laying a smokescreen whilst filling up at the water column alongside the shed. The loco was about to head for Larbert to take charge of the ICI Soda Ash train to Wallerscote in Cheshire. This was one of the last regular steam workings north of the border.
Charlestown Buffer: The bufferstops at Charlestown looking the worse for wear, but not as a result of contact by a train! It was not clear if this was through vandalism or simply corrosion although it looks more like the former. Given the lack of any maintenance for decades and ongoing corrosion it is perhaps surprising they lasted intact for so long.
Carlisle: 47703 'The Queen Mother' seen at Carlisle in October 1998. At the time the lady herself was still around and I am sure she was suitably flattered.
