Inverurie: An escorted visit to Inverurie signal box in 1990 resulted in this night-time view. The large gap in front of the box between it and the running lines was due to the now lifted bay platform lines, for the [[Old Meldrum]] branch.

Usan Signal Box: A 1998 view of the signal box at Usan (pronounced as in ‘Susan’) at the south end of the single track section to Montrose. It was to survive a further 11 or 12 years until MAS was installed and Montrose North box took over responsibility. Montrose South box closed at the same time.

Sutton [Baldoyle]: The derelict signal box at Sutton on the Howth Junction to Howth branch of the DART system in northern Dublin, seen from unit 8123 to Howth about to negotiate the level crossing before arriving at Sutton station, on the evening of 19th June 2016. It was from outside the station that the Hill of Howth Tramway pursued its circuitous route to Howth until closure on 31st May 1959.
Blackford: 47706 alongside Blackford signal box in 1990. Having come north over the level crossing the locomotive reversed and returned to the south.
Longforgan: Longforgan level crossing and signalbox in 1985. The station here had closed in 1956.
Auchterarder: Auchterarder box, switched out, viewed from the west side of the line in 1990.
Inverkeithing Central Junction: Inverkeithing Central Junction signalbox, and associated semaphore signals, seen in 1974.
