Friockheim: Friockheim station in September 1967, with the remains of a Guy lorry awaiting departure. The station straddled the A933 but by this time the bridge had been removed, bisecting the station and indicated by the grey brick wall at the end of the truncated platform.

Donegal: Donegal Railway Museum, housed at the former Donegal Town station on the one-time narrow gauge County Donegal Joint Railways, closed on the very last day of the 1950s and seen here nearly 59 years later on 1st August 2018.

Silkstone Junction: The infilled land adjacent to the road overbridge on the A637 Barnsley Road, where it adjoins both the A637 Claycliffe Lane and the local road Barugh Lane at a mini roundabout, is being worked on in Nov 2020 in order to create a larger roundabout to more ably cope with the traffic volume along the A637. By chance I happened to be back down in the area and noted that the work had opened up the upper east side of the arch of the bridge, that formerly crossed over the Silkstone Branch line just to the west of Silkstone Junction. Backfilling of the cleared area is taking place, to support the new road section, and I was advised that the under bridge area is to be filled with concrete. View is looking north west with the arch top still visible.

Edinburgh Waverley: The Calton Road entrance to Waverley station is easily the quietest. Until the 1950s rather than a wall facing you at the top of the stairs there was a footbridge that took you above the station to Jeffrey Street on the other side. Photographed 7 November 2020 from the 1815 Regent Bridge which I like to to think of as a flyover avant la lettre.

Brechin: The 'Last Train' DMU returns to Brechin Station; I think it did a short run to Bridge of Dun and back but I could be wrong.... In the background is an unidentified 0-6-0ST in maroon livery. For a view of Brechin Station with the railtour train see image [[69867]]

Meadowside Junction: Standard 4MT 2-6-4T 80046 waits at Renfrew Wharf with the empty stock. It will shortly move up the line to Fulbar St to form the 16.41 service to Glasgow St Enoch. By 1966 this was the only train of the day from Renfrew Wharf. In the opposite direction there was also just one; a morning rush hour service from St Enoch to Renfrew Wharf.

Coldstream: I've heard of manicured lawns, but never manicured fields. This accommodation track-over-rail bridge at Coldstream was clearly built to last.
