Carron Water Bridge [West Carmont]: An elevated view of the ongoing work at the site of the Carmont derailment on Sunday 11th October 2020. Re-opening looks a fair bit away and an article in RAIL says it will be November because Network Rail are digging up the lineside drains. I can’t see the new bridge parapet stopping a 70 tonne train from going over the side but I might be wrong.

Partick: The new interchange at Partick, seen here during the construction phase early on a wet and overcast Sunday morning in September 2007. Not much sign of life at this hour (note the Station Newsagent still closed and shuttered) save for a recently arrived council refuse truck (complete with Commonwealth Games promotional sticker) at a bus stance arriving to pick up Saturday night's rubbish stacked in front of the temporary station entrance. The new Partick Interchange was officially opened in March 2009 (see image [[27828]]).

Filey Holiday Camp: Looking back from a window of the 1155 arrival from Scarborough standing at platform 2 of Filey HC on a warm summer Saturday in August 1977. The DMU will continue its journey to Hull following a 5 minute stopover here. The overgrown track on the far left is the platform 1 engine release line. All four platforms here were approximately 1,100 feet long.

Slateford Junction [1st]: A through-the-window 'grabshot' (ie excuse for a rubbish photo - like I need an excuse) of the former Slateford Junction box. It had a fairly short working life; the junction was created here in the 1960s then Edinburgh Signalling Centre took over 15 years or so later. It is still in use as something-or-other.

This station, designed by Dr. Charles Holden (1875-1960), the Underground's Chief Architect between the two World Wars, opened on 19th September 1932 with the first stage of the Cockfosters extension from Finsbury Park to Arnos Grove.

Balshaw Lane Junction: LMS Black 5 no. 44871 passes Balshaw Lane Jct on 17 September 2020 whilst on a Southall to Carnforth move with support coach.
