Ayr Harbour: Coal is still exported from Ayr in 2020 - but unfortunately it all arrives at the dock by road. This ship is the 'Bimi', loading for Kopervik in Norway, on 17th July 2020.
Newtongrange: The 0911 Edinburgh Waverley - Tweedbank emerges from below the A7 to arrive at the platform of a very quiet Newtongrange station on Sunday 12 July 2020.
Wroxham: Diesel hydraulic No.3 '2nd Division USAAF' just arrived at Wroxham with a Bure Valley Railway train from Aylsham on 30th May 2016. This station is a short walk from Hoveton & Wroxham station on the Sheringham to Norwich line.
Edinburgh Waverley: 08738 parked in the Motorail bay at Waverley in 1992.
Pyle: 'Britannia' 70000, in the disguise of 70022 'Tornado', made a visit to South Wales on 29th July 2020, hauling The Red Dragon from Bristol Temple Meads to Carmarthen. Here seen passing at speed down Stormy Bank through Pyle station with D1935 on the rear.
Inches: Extract from the Scottish Region working timetable Section B effective 17th June 1957. Poor services like this were a gift to bus companies with their cheaper fares, something you will read time and again in contemporary accounts. I wonder how long that 13 minutes at Inches felt when you were in a hurry to get home?
Horwich Parkway: Now cascaded TPE 350404 approaches Horwich Parkway on 20th April 2019 with a service to Manchester from the north.
Thornton Shed [2nd]: B1 4-6-0 61407, at the coaling tower of Thornton depot, on 20th September 1966.
Woodacre Crossing: Avanti vinyls are being applied to the Pendolino fleet, but in quite a lot of cases only to the driving cars so far, although this still really improves the appearance from the unliveried sets. 390141 heads south at Woodacre, alongside yet another stretch of new green palisade fencing, on 29th July 2020. This installation was probably inevitable after livestock strayed onto the line the previous summer. See image [[70120]].
Longsight Depot: E3117 is parked up on Longsight Depot on 19 May 1970. The loco was renumbered to 86227 in the 1970s and carried the name 'Sir Henry Johnson'. After service on the WCML it later operated on the London to Norwich services. It was withdrawn from Norwich Crown Point in October 2004 and cut up in July the following year.
