Ormskirk

777045, Merseyrail Northern Line at Ormskirk, looking south, waiting to depart for Hunts Cross, at 17.15 on Tuesday, 29th April 2025. Behind me, the platform continues and serves as a terminus for Northern trains from Preston, since through trains to Liverpool were withdrawn in 1970, leaving a residue service of diesel units between Preston and Ormskirk where they interchange with Merseyrail services to Liverpool. This station, though reduced to this one long single platform (the abandoned platform was on the right), is now a Grade II Listed Building by English Heritage.
