Portobello Freightliner Terminal
A scan of a poor quality slide, dating from early 1979, looking towards Edinburgh from the footbridge at Portobello East. The train in the picture is 17.10 Edinburgh - Newcastle local, worked by a Deltic, and to the right is Portobello Freightliner Terminal which opened in 1968 and closed in 1985. A Class 37 can be seen awaiting departure with what from memory was a working to Glasgow.
