Appleby North Junction
'Britannic Explorer' preparations. GBRf's 66765 'Julie Garn' and 57310 'UK Railtours' ease out of Appleby North East Sidings on 25th May 2025, working 5Z76, the 1838hrs Penrith North Lakes to Ribblehead leg of GBRF's dry run ahead of the luxury service's maiden 3-night Lake District trip in July. The train stabled in the sidings but it is believed when operational it will overnight in the station. GBRF hired a rake of Eastern Rail Services stock for this trial, whilst the actual train undergoes final preparations in Hamilton ahead of its debut on 4th July with a trip around Wales.
