Wolverhampton Low Level

The former GWR station at Wolverhampton Low Level looking north in April 1969. By this time it was looking a bit neglected with only the local service to Birmingham Snow Hill via Wednesbury Central using it. This hung on until March 1972 but by then the station had been converted to a parcels concentration depot and most of the track had been lifted. I had visited once previously, in 1966, and saw my only ex-GWR steam locomotive in BR service, albeit a light engine 2-6-2T.
