Pitlurg

The site of Pitlurg station on the Boddam branch, closed to passengers in 1932 and goods in 1948. This April 2025 view looks towards Ellon with the minor road climbing to cross the line, although the old bridge has gone and been filled in. The green mound in the foreground is roughly where the northbound platform was, with two sidings fanning out from that point to behind the camera. A home on the far side of the station site appears to be the old Station House, but greatly enlarged.
