Work almost complete at Gretna Green on 11 August 2008, with the second platform now operational following redoubling of the section to Annan. Outstanding items here include the area around the station entrance, parts of the new footbridge and the installation of permanent lighting. A Carlisle - Glasgow DMU is currently pulling away from the new northbound platform as a car on the adjacent A75 passes in the opposite direction..
