Dublin Heuston

Exterior of Dublin Heuston station, seen from tram stop, on 20th June 2016. This station was originally opened as Dublin Kingsbridge on 4th August 1846 by the Great Southern & Great Western Railway. In 1966, on the 50th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Uprising, it was renamed Dublin Heuston in honour of Sean Heuston, one of 16 people executed by the British and who used to work in the station offices. The year 2016, when I took this photo, was of course the Centenary of the Uprising.
