Rickmansworth
LU S8 stock, Metropolitan Line service from Chesham to Aldgate calling at Rickmansworth, looking south, on 12th March 2023. On the left is the disused bay platform for the LNER's Watford branch shuttle that was provided when the Watford branch opened from a triangular junction with the main line on 2nd November 1925, jointly between the LNER and the Metropolitan, but the LNER service to and from Watford via the west spur ceased after only nine years in 1934. The branch is still served today by Metropolitan Line trains via the east spur to and from Baker Street or Aldgate.
