Lady Victoria Pit Signal Box

A Sunday morning service on the Borders Railway heading for Tweedbank on 22 May 2022. The train is approaching the B794 road bridge half a mile south of Newtongrange station. The buildings visible through the trees top left stand on what is now Butlerfield Industrial Estate, once the site of the former Newbattle Disposal Point and Coal Stocking Site, a WW2 emergency facility established to deal with coal supplies from non-rail served locations such as opencast workings. The extensive sidings were linked to the main line at the north end.
