Lady Victoria Pit Signal Box

The trackbed of the Waverley Route as it was in March 2007, seen here looking north from the B704 road bridge towards the site of Newtongrange Station. In the background stands the Lothian Coal Companys Lady Victoria Colliery, closed in 1981 to reopen just over three years later as the National Mining Museum. The red brick building partially visible on the right is the former NCB locomotive shed.
