Southport
Following the most recent timetable change, the Southport to Alderley Edge services have been cut back to Manchester Oxford Road. The other trains through Wigan run to Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge. The changes mean that the Flex hybrid units are able to operate most services, 'pan up' from Bolton for now and from Wigan when the Westhoughton line is wired. On 15th March 2023 three 769 trains were in the station, L-R 448, 442 and 431, waiting to head for Manchester.
