Windsor and Eton Central

Full-scale replica of Achilles 4-2-2 No.3041, on static display at Windsor & Eton Central, on 13th April 2019. The original was built in 1894 and at first named 'Emlyn', after Lord Emlyn, Chairman of the GWR. Repainted in GWR livery in 1897, the Diamond Jubilee year, the locomotive was then renamed 'The Queen', especially to pull six new carriages of Queen Victoria's Royal Train. It was withdrawn from service in 1912 and the genuine example does not survive.
