Newton-le-Willows
Most local services from Wigan North Western to Lime St run via St Helens but a couple of morning trains are routed via the Golborne and Lowton Junctions route onto the L&M. 319383 calls at Newton-le-Willows with the 0924 from Wigan on 22nd February 2023. Because of the congested nature of the various junctions on route the service is allowed twenty minutes for the seven miles from Wigan, but despite a sprint on the WCML there was still a hold up on this day and it actually took twenty four.
