Charing

Exterior of the delightful Charing station, on the Maidstone East line in Kent, on the fine summer morning of 22nd July 2021. This station was opened by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway on 1st July 1884 with the extension of the line from Maidstone East to Ashford West, although that station closed on 1st January 1899 when services were transferred to the ex-South Eastern Railway station (now Ashford International). The line was electrified in 1961.
