Ulverston Canal Foot Basin and Sea Lock

The upper gates of the Ulverston Canal sea lock have been left in situ since the 1940s closure and are slowly rotting away. The water level is maintained because the lower lock gates have been replaced by a concrete dam. This is the view towards the canal head in January 2023, a dead straight (and level) one and a quarter miles.
