Auldhouseburn Junction

Looking towards Muirkirk in September 2022, from the site of a long-demolished miner's row called Bankhead, just to the west of Auldhouseburn Junction. On the right is the trackbed of the Bairds mineral railway from Muirkirk to Glenbuck, probably abandoned around 1922-23 and now part of the The River Ayr Way walking route. To the left is the course of the Muirkirk Canal and, in the left distance, the spoil tips of Auldhouseburn Colliery.
