Polmadie Shed
Close up of the motion of Fairburn 2-6-4T 42274, taken at Polmadie on the morning of Friday 28th April 1967. The locomotive was rostered for an outing to Gourock that afternoon, for return on the 5.03 pm service to Glasgow Central. This proved to be the final occasion on which a regular timetabled passenger train within BR's Scottish Region was covered by a Scottish Region steam locomotive.
