Strand Road level crossing was completely relaid in March 2022, resulting in no rail traffic and a road closure, but hopefully ensuring the long term future of freight on the branch. Colas 56302 and 56049 leave the Preston Docks area (Ribble Rail) and cross Strand Road with the empty bitumen tanks heading to Lindsey Oil Refinery, Humberside on 19 April 2022.
