Kilconquhar

Entrance to the modified former station house at Kilconquhar in Fife, photographed looking south from the A917 road in the summer of 2007. The station was opened in 1857 by the East of Fife Railway in a mainly agricultural area between Largo and Elie (a mile to the south east). The single platform station stood just beyond the station house, with the goods yard on the south side of the line. The main entrance was off to the right (west) alongside a level crossing. Kilconquhar station closed to all traffic in 1965.
