Bogside Fife

Lost Railfreight. It is many years since explosives were carried by rail but the specialised wagons were once seen in a variety of locations all over the UK 21338. The Branch Line Society's Lothian & Fife Wanderer's presence at Bogside on 23 August 1980 allowed participants close inspection of gunpowder vans for a nearby quarry, the only traffic to this remnant of the Stirling - Dunfermline railway by this time. Forty years later almost everything in this picture has gone but the signal box survives in reasonable condition. 75020 #COP26
