Pendlebury

This little green space alongside the main road in Pendlebury is actually the site of the station building. There is little to show what was here but there is a short section of yellow brick wall near the pavement and, backing on to the line, several more short sections of brick wall in different colours separating this now public area from the railway. When the station was open a footbridge from the back of the station building spanned two freight lines and the Down Passenger before stairs afforded access to the island platform in the deep cutting 77296. Pendlebury is one of several Greater Manchester locations to be proposed for a reopened or new station.
