Walton-on-the-Naze

The replacement ticket office at Walton-on-the-Naze, the Essex seaside terminus of the branch from Thorpe-le-Soken, seen here on the evening of 1st June 2021. On a previous visit, in September 2020, this was shut and the only staff were the driver and guard of the hourly train service and so it was on this latest visit too. Also, again on both occasions, nobody checked our tickets in either direction for the entire journey to and from Liverpool Street, must be down to covid, even though we were uncomfortably masked throughout the journeys.
