Channel Tunnel Shakespeare Cliff

A view of the clean and bright-looking Land Service Tunnel heading uphill approximately south west towards the Castlehill Portal and the Cheriton Terminal see image 72441. The solid catenary 'wire' (copper-coloured bar) which carried the 550v DC supply to power the electric locos can be seen suspended from the crown. The yellow tube was for carrying blown air further along the tunnel.
