Lowton
195123 slowly negotiates the tight curve at Lowton as it approaches Golborne Junction and the WCML heading to Windermere from Manchester Airport on 8th February 2021. This is the site of Lowton station, which closed in 1949, and the remains of a platform can be seen on the right. The old ramp to the other platform is now used for engineer access. The signal above the train controls Lowton Junction, providing links to the east and west facing junctions with the Liverpool and Manchester Railway.
