The undersized oval 'plate' on this sole relic of a construction branch is a modern one saying 'Union Canal - Allan Park footbridge'. After a necessarily brief life as a working rail bridge it became useful for pedestrians when the area was developed in the 1930s. It would be a tragedy if the next budding artist lost their footing…
