Saughton

A Waverley bound service passes the site of the new tram flyover at Saughton on 9 September 2009. No work was taking place at the time due to the long running tram dispute, which would result in a reduced system eventually being delivered late and significantly over budget. In June 2014 a public inquiry into the project was announced by First Minister Alex Salmond. Currently (June 2020) the inquiry continues and has now taken longer than the building of the original network [see news item].
