Ickenham

Preserved GWR class 4575 no. 5521, completed at Swindon Works in December 1927 and withdrawn from regular service in April 1962. It was rescued from Woodham's scrapyard at Barry in June 1975. In 2013, London Underground requested it be painted in London Transport red livery, re-numbered L.150 and used on special trips to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the world's first Underground line, the Metropolitan Railway. It is seen here at the head of one of several specials that ran on this day from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge passing Ickenham station, on the bright but bitterly cold afternoon of Sunday, 8th December 2013.
