A surprise sighting at Ickenham station on Sunday, 8th December 2013 was this former A60/62 Metropolitan Line stock modified for use as a RAT - Rail Adhesion Train - passing on its return from Uxbridge to Neasden Depot. The very roomy A stock trains ran on the Metropolitan Line out to distant places like Uxbridge, Watford, Chesham and Amersham for just over half a century, commencing on 12th June 1961 and withdrawn on 26th September 2012.
