Hampton Loade

The picturesque Hampton Loade station on the Severn Valley Railway, on 6th September 2014. Closed by BR in 1963, it was the original southern terminus of the first part of the line from Bridgnorth to be revived as a heritage railway in 1970. The line now, of course, extends all the way to Kidderminster Town although Bewdley to Kidderminster was never part of the original SVR which originally continued south to Hartlebury. Coincidentally, BR passenger services between Bewdley and Kidderminster and Bewdley and Hartlebury ceased in 1970, just as the first section of the revived SVR opened.
