The waterlogged trackbed of the NBR North Monkland Branch grows a different type of vegetation from the surrounding ground making it easy to pick out in this view taken from where it once passed below Drumriggend Road, a minor road off Binniehill Road between Slamannan and Longriggend. The Broadrigg Colliery Pit No 2 was on a short mineral branch off to the left. Ahead the line curves round to North Monkland Junction.
