Butterley

111 year old 0-4-0ST 'Whitehead', built in 1908 for use on Welsh colliery lines, seen arriving at the Midland Railway Centre's station at Butterley with a train from Riddings to Hammersmith on 4th May 2019. After withdrawal, this was purchased by the Great Western Society and was initially based at the West Somerset Railway. It arrived at the Midland Railway Centre in July 1999 but it was not until March 2011 that it returned to service after a major overhaul. (On the left is the empty stock of UK Railtours' excursion train, stabled in the loop platform.)
