Garstang and Catterall

These two bridges, one partially filled in and one rebuilt in the early 1970s for electrification, mark the point where the Garstang and Knott End branch veered away from the main line to run west towards Garstang Town. It wasn't a junction as the two railways just ran in parallel from Garstang & Catterall station. Later (LMS days?) a connection from the G&KER line was made back into the main line at this point to form a long Down Goods loop. 11th March 2019.
