Manchester Liverpool Road
On display at the Museum of Science and Industry, which is located at the site of the former Manchester Liverpool Road station, is the remains of Stephenson's 0-2-2 'Rocket'. There are a few modifications that had taken place during its working life including mounting the chimney on top of a smokebox and bringing the cylinders almost into a horizontal position. How appropriate that it should be visiting the terminus at the eastern end of the line on which it once ran.
