Station Road in Morecambe is one of those modern day anomalies where the present day station is nowhere near it. This street led to the LNWR's Morecambe Euston Road, which was sited where the flats and sheltered accommodation have since been built. The open area was once the station forecourt. After several years of only opening for summer excursion trains Euston Road finally closed completely in 1962 with all services then operating from Morecambe Promenade.
