Widnes
I searched in vain for the blue plaques at Widnes station that commemorated Paul Simon being inspired to write the lyrics of 'Homeward Bound' here. Apparently they have been stolen more than once and the (brass) replacement is now inside the booking hall, but that is closed and locked on a Saturday afternoon. The Cheshire Lines station building is Grade II listed. 22nd September 2018.
