View south east of the vehicle entrance to Station House at Gilling Station, with crossing type gate, and beyond it the driveway to The Engine Shed residence, which is located in the converted former goods shed east of the station. The station is alongside the B1363 York to Helmsley Road at the north end of the village. The tower of Holy Cross Church can be seen in the distance
