Hesselby Bangård

The vintage 0-6-0 locomotive Gotland stands in the loco shed under wraps. According to the small sign above the nameplate it was manufactured by Nydquist & Holm (NOHAB) in 1878 and, before being delivered to Gotlands Järnvägar (GJ), it was exhibited at the Paris International Exposition (Exposition Universelle) and was awarded a Silver Medal. The Gold Medal went to Paul Decauville for the portable rail system he developed see image 59896.
