Carleton Crossing

Progress has a sad side. The little gate box at Carleton Crossing is dismantled by contractors on 21st November 2017, ten days after it signalled its last train. It is believed the roof section was removed to allow the small lever frame to be lifted out and the various instruments have been recovered for use elsewhere. Blackpool No.2 was the first box to be demolished and the contractors are expected to move on to Poulton No.3 after this task.
