Bowes

Located 7 miles east of Stainmore Summit on the Trans-Pennine South Durham & Lancashire Union Railway, Bowes was a station that became well used to extremes of weather during its 101 years until closure in 1962. The remains were photographed during a cold blustery wind and persistent rain on 20 March 2010. View is east towards Barnard Castle, with a large farm building now occupying part of the old trackbed.
