Loanhead
The route of the former Edinburgh, Loanhead & Roslin Railway passing below the crossroads in Loanhead at the start of the climb south towards Roslin in August 2017. The last section of the route, serving Bilston Glen Colliery, was officially closed in 1989 (although it was used intermittently until early 1991 for the removal of materials and coal stocks). The approaching cyclist is enjoying the downhill run towards the former Loanhead station, located 100m behind the camera.
