In 2017, Network Rail announced that it intended to close several footpath crossings in Essex. This photo shows one of these, at Paget Road in Wivenhoe, with a Walton on the Naze to Colchester service passing on 4th April 2017. The closure notices are attached to the right hand fence. Pedestrians are redirected across the nearby Anglesea road bridge.
