Hawick [2nd]

BR 'Scottish Grand Tour No 6' calls at Hawick on Saturday 4 January 1969 behind D1974, with protests against closure of the line in full swing. The train was running late, having been held up at Millerhill due to a bomb alert. The special ran from Edinburgh to Newcastle via the Carlisle goods lines, returning north on the ECML (after a trip round the North Tyne loop).
