Euxton Junction
A Liverpool to Preston EMU on the down slow line passes over Pack Saddle Bridge on the A49 road (between Preston and Wigan) as road traffic heads south under the control of the traffic lights. While the original bridge supports two tracks (the slow lines) of the WCML, a newer bridge on the other side is now carrying three tracks, the fast lines and the up Chorley line.
