Wilderswil

PCBTL?** Schynige Platte rack locomotive No.13 Matten, dating from 1914, engages in some leisurely shunting at the SPB Wilderswil depot, alongside the station on 21st June 2016. As is common rack railway practice the locomotives are not coupled to the passenger coaches but simply push them up the mountain using the dumb buffer seen here. The locos are single ended as going up the mountain they are driven from a compartment in the passenger coach. (** Pantograph considerably bigger than locomotive)
