Farington Curve Junction

A Cravens Class 105 DMU climbs away from Farington Curve Junction to join the East Lancashire line on a service for Colne in 1978. These twin power car units were the staple motive power on this line for over 25 years. The embankment on the right once carried the direct services from East Lancs to Liverpool but finally closed in 1972. The field to the left of the train is now covered by housing.
